Born in 1968 in Chicapa de Castro, Juchitán de Zaragoza, on the Isthmus of Oaxaca. In 1984 he entered the visual arts workshop of the Istmo Institute of Technology and in 1989 the Rufino Tamayo workshop in Oaxaca; he holds a degree in graphic design from the Universidad Mesoamericana. He learned ceramics with Onel Borges, painting with Luis Nishizawa, colour printmaking with Charles Barth, graphic art with Shinzaburo Takeda and metal engraving with Juan Alcázar. Between 2003 and 2012 he held solo shows including «Metáforas del horizonte», «A nivel del mar» and «Mis manos son tus manos». He has exhibited in Argentina, the United States and Uruguay, and his work is in the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo Latinoamericano in Punta del Este and in the collections of the UNAM and the Ministry of Finance.
