Born in Guadalajara in 1968, he graduated in visual arts in 1992; two years later he presented «Pasajeros», his first solo show, at the Galería Jorge Martínez in Guadalajara. He draws, engraves, paints and sculpts, and in all of it the drawn line is the foundation. His series «Ozymandias» and «El beso de Midas» deal with power, consumption and social decay. He has won the José Guadalupe Posada National Printmaking Competition (2002), the Diego Rivera Biennial in 2002 and 2004, the Alfredo Zalce Award (2003), the Guadalajara Prize 2004 and the first Rafael Cauduro Drawing Biennial of the Americas (2006). In 2015 the Museo Nacional de la Muerte devoted «Sed del polvo» to him, with some eighty works. He has exhibited in Chile, Costa Rica, Brazil, New York, Miami and Italy.
