Born on 14 January 1923 to a father from Santander and a mother from Monterrey; he holds both Spanish and Mexican nationality. A painter and sculptor of bullfighting subjects, he has worked in charcoal, silver and bronze. His are the mural of fighting bulls at the Hotel Misión de Atlihuetzía in Tlaxcala; the bust of the matador Mariano Ramos installed at the Plaza México in 2019; the Paseo de los Toreros in Monterrey; and the death masks of Fermín Espinosa, Rodolfo Gaona and Lorenzo Garza. In February 2025 the municipality of Huamantla, Tlaxcala, honoured him in life for his work.
