Mexico City, 1962. She studied at UNAM’s National School of Visual Arts and at the Talleres de Arte Actual of the Círculo de Bellas Artes in Madrid. Her painting, drawing and work on paper take nature as a starting point: plants, seeds, roots and flowers set between figuration and abstraction. She has exhibited in Mexico, Spain, the United States, Brazil, Sweden and Kenya, including «La promesa de la imagen» (Museo de Antropología de Xalapa, 2019) and «Geografía de las plantas mexicanas» (Madrid, Paris and Berlin, 2021–2023). A former member of the Sistema Nacional de Creadores, she has written visual-arts criticism for Proceso since 1997.
