Puebla, 1887 — 1962. He studied at the Puebla academy of fine arts with Francisco Morales van den Eyden and, on a scholarship from President Madero, at San Carlos with José María Velasco, Germán Gedovius and Tiburcio Sánchez; he completed his training in France and Italy. He painted from 1910 and left more than a thousand oils: the Sierra Nevada, the Valley of Mexico at dusk, Xochimilco, churches, still lifes of flowers and fruit and, above all, seascapes resolved with two elements, water and sky. The SURA Collection holds his oil «El Peñón», of 1930. In 1998 Fernández Cueto published Rodrigo Amerlinck’s monograph on him.
