Würzburg, 1874 — 1897. He apprenticed in the workshop of the lithographer Michael Greiner in his home town and in November 1896 entered the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Munich, in Johann Caspar Herterich’s nature class. He is remembered as an animal painter; his life was brief.
